Dell XPS 420

Does anyone have an opinion on this computer. I am looking to spend around 1500 to 1800 on a computer and monitor. I want something middle of the road for gaming etc. It does not need to be top of the line though.

Any thoughts.

I'm looking at this one too, I like the quad core. I'm looking more high end around 2-3,000

I have seen that as one of cons in the reviews, right now you can get 400 bucks off the system.

Do you have any better ideas that might beat that one.

I have the 410, and it's been a very good machine. I upgraded the video card when I ordered it. I have played Halo online with no problems. Great computer.

There is a XPS 420 at Costco. Not sure how it compares to the same system on Dell's site but it's another option.

I have a 410 as well and it's done what I've asked of it. My old 4100 is still chugging along at 833 MHz too!

That may be, but it seems to be consistent no matter what company you go with. It seems if you want the specs you have to pay for them.

I am glad to see that some people have had good luck with it.

I am looking at a 2000 system that you get 400 bucks off of. I think it will meet my needs.

Why not an XPS 630

I just got an XPS 630 and it cost me about $1600.00 with discounts. Awesome machine and much better built then the XPS 420 I saw at Best Buy. I've only had it about 3 weeks but I'm most impressed so far.

wat are the specs on yours? also, the 630 is way bigger than the 420, maybe he doesnt have the room
