The Detroit Free Press and Detroit News reported the former All-Pro defensive lineman and actor has been given only a few days to live because of recent kidney failure.

I remember wondering what happened to Alex this summer and noticed he had been out of acting for almost the past 15-years. Very sad. I had no idea he was battling dementia. I wish his family the best.

Karras had joined the large list of veterans suing the NFL over head injuries. No word yet on whether or not the family will donate Karras' brain for study, as other recent families have done...
