It was raining hard tonight here in MA and I lost ESPN2 (signal strength around 70) but other channels like CNN and HDN were still coming in at signal strength of 83. How is this possible? Are some channels on different transponders?

Interesting info. Have never seen it said anywhere that sat signal level can vary by the channel one is receiving. Thanks for the education TYORK and spahoose.

Still receiving and enjoying HDTV under cloudy/windy Seattle skies, Gill

Is there a list of channel# Vs transponder# somewhere on the web?

Is there a similar reference for OTA? Vicki

no vic your OTA is not the same this would only apply if you was receiving OTA though the Sat.

short list

The ones I know are espnhd, usa, scifi, and bravo. If your having a polarity issue with mixed channels, these are usually the first to show it.
