digital audio (ac-3)

Will this decode Digital audio from the coaxial output on my Fortec Ultra lifetime FTA receiver? So I can cheaply just plug an 1/8" to RCA plug adaptor into my stereo to hear AC-3 and digital audio stream channels like PBS on amc-3?

I have heard of headphones like that, that decode AC3 (Dolby Digital).

the fact it has this
S/PDIF Optical or Coaxial Input

says it will work. You can just use the optical or coaxial cable to go directly from the receiver to the headphones

Yes, they work fine for that purpose. I have some for my tv's that don't have an ac3 decoding source (such as a traditional surround sound system - not going to spring for a full out surround sound system for the kitchen)

this is the one i use also , you can plug regular computer speakers into where the headphones hookup so you should be able to run it to a stereo

Good deal I am going to buy it so I can hear the channels that only have s/pdif and dolby audio streams.

I have exactly your proposed set up (Fortec Ultra lifetime with Sonic Voom) works great.
