I have heard of headphones like that, that decode AC3 (Dolby Digital).

Also from your link: "Simply plug the 5.1 channel digital decoder into any digital audio output, (optical or coaxial),"

the fact it has this
S/PDIF Optical or Coaxial Input

says it will work. You can just use the optical or coaxial cable to go directly from the receiver to the headphones

Yes, they work fine for that purpose. I have some for my tv's that don't have an ac3 decoding source (such as a traditional surround sound system - not going to spring for a full out surround sound system for the kitchen)

this is the one i use also , you can plug regular computer speakers into where the headphones hookup so you should be able to run it to a stereo
