I have a motorhome set up with HD TV using a HD receiver/DVR. Using a automatic locating antenna on the room. Works Great. When at home the motorhome is parked under a overhand. The roof antennas cannot be used. I had a single cable installed with an input jack available in one of the bays. The antenna signals are run to a 4 X 8 switch. There was physically only room ro run 1 cable which is now feeding tuner 1. I have a signal level 0f 99%. I cannot get past the set up display because it is looking for a signal for tuner 2. which is obviously not connected. I wanted a signal to the receiver so I could keep it "alive". It would be nice if it could be viewed also.

Question - Can I run the one cable to a splitter and run the 2 outputs to the Direct TV receiver? One to tuner 1 and the other to tuner 2.

any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

You have to change the system settings to tell it you only have a single tuner connected. You cannot split the signal and run a line to each tuner. Once you change the setting you should be fine.

Good call Wild Bill.
I've been in the same situation the OP is talking about before !

Though were not sure about his dish set up as he didn't mention which one he has, he mentioned a 4x8 switch makes me believe that he's not using the newer Slimline set up, so he won't be getting all the HD he should get.

Hey - Thanks guys. I give that a try
By the way I have the Direct TV Slimline Dish.

In your home or for the motor home ?

Are you going to use a Slimline also for the motorhome ?

If you can set it up ok, I would recommend going with the Slimline this way you won't have to make any changes from home to motor home.

IF you get one , practice at home before you go out and get it down pat.
