Direct TV hr24 / hr54 help

Since an HR54 requires a swm system, you will most likely have one cable coming from your dish. That will go to a splitter, and your HR54 and HR24 will connect to the output of that splitter. Since the HR54 has a built in power inserter, it needs to be on the power passing port of the splitter. It's designated by either a red line or a red port. That's how the equipment is connected.
