direct tv with general receiver i.e: pansat 2700a

Hello everybody,

I am subscribed to direct tv with 2 receivers but I only pay extra lease for the second receiver. I think it is only for 101 degrees satellite.

Does anyone know if I can use a pansat 2700a receiver and save on the lease of the second receiver?

You can only used DirecTV receivers to receive DirecTV signals, without breaking a few laws and violating the forum rules about hacking.

In addition, how were you going to activate the receiver on the account, or were you just going to steal the programming to save yourself $5.00 per month?

Isn't the Pansat receiver used for FTA? Aka, big ugly dish!

yes pansat is for FTA but I was hoping to use it with directtv to save 5$/month,

BTW, if the OP is into FTA then he should know that it wouldn't work with DirecTV.
