DirecTV Bidding for Hulu

Looks like D* is making a bid for Hulu. Current offer is just over 1b which is a nice chunk of change.

I'm not really sure why they'd pursue them. Anyone have thoughts? Merge their on demand platform into it? Any impact on local station negotiations? Netflix competitor (they'd really need to add content to be one IMO)

Hulu plus is 7.99 and has been for quite awhile . I would hope that if direct did buy them they wouldn't jack up the sub cost of it.

Probably will. Isn't Blockbuster $10? So they could add it to the extra pack and up it $2.00. You'd think Direc would combine it for the subcribers and let non subcribers still get it as well. That's more $ in the bank. Didn't Dish say Blockbuster would be made public one it got up and running? Unless I didn't hear you have to have Dish to get it correct? That's not smart in my opinion.
