April 14 (Bloomberg) -- DirecTV, the largest U.S. satellite-television provider, dropped a lawsuit in which it accused Dish Network Corp. of running a false advertising campaign on nationwide TV, according to a court filing.

DirecTV sued Dish in February, seeking to halt the advertisements that asserted Dish charges $24 less a month for the same services as DirecTV. A federal judge in New York denied DirecTV’s bid to block the ads immediately.

The parties “stipulate to the dismissal of the entirety of the action,” according to a one-sentence court filing today by attorneys for both sides. There were no additional details.

Dish has also agreed to drop claims it brought against DirecTV, according to the filing.

First wise decision Direct has made in a while. They should have never brought it to court to begin with

Bingo, as I said before this was a can of worms they did not want to open. And "To Tell The Truth" they both lie. :)

Yea, after Directv took the exact same ads that Dish was running and twisted them around and ran them for a month. At this point Directv does not have a leg to stand on in this lawsuit, as they are just as guilty themselves.

The questions are the ads going to stop from both sides, or they going to continue?
