Saw it for the first time today. Similar ad to the "most hd" ad.

I can't believe Directv went there!!!:D

They should have kept hammering Dish on there part time hd.

I have had both services and this on is a no contest!!

VIP's hands down.

I will take Dish dvr for $500 Alex.:D

Yea Dish wins hands down on their DVRS in my opinion.Directvs guide and whole interface sucks. Its for one a strain on the eyes and to hard to read.Dish network rules when it comes to the guide and the functions of their VIP dvrs.I have a 722 vip and love it.I will never go to DIRECTV.

I second that ALEX:D:D:D:D:D

Their big advantage

Wow their DVR has such a big advantage to be able to prgm w/ a cell. They don't mention the slow response that the D* peeps talk about on the forums. Only Ffwd or rewind no skip ahead or back. But I might be prejudice since I have a working 722k that will record 4 things at one time. :D

I was going to get the new 922 receiver but decided to wait.I wouldnt really be using the sling feature so I guess it wouldnt make to much sense to spend the extra money on it at this time.Does anyone know when the web browser will become operational,or is it working now?

I watched it again and saw that he was looking at the cable guy when he said he had twice the space. Funny that I can do it from my computer just not my droid.

Nope, Sling works just fine on Direct, after my switch hooked it up and I have Direct on my laptop and I my IPAD

There is skip ahead and skip back as well as ffw and rewing with the HR. ;)

I can't believe that D* is going there, either. I haven't ever subscribed to D*, but my friend has it. His DVR is just fine, but I wouldn't want to use to every day, myself, nor would I want to go back to Time Warner's Scientific Atlanta box. I really found D*'s "To Tell the Truth" DVR ad very "untruthful", particularly if applied to E* (compared to applied to Cable).

ALTHOUGH...the fine print at the bottom of the ad says "compared to largest national CABLE providers", but the D* contestant appears to be directing his claims just a little too much to the E* guy...

I do have to agree that out of all of the commercials in which Direct compares themselves to Dish, this is definitely one that should not have been attempted.

If Direct were to compare DVRs the should just focus on the few things that their DVR can do that others cannot, like Score Guide, ex.

When I first saw this commercial I just laughed at how rediculous it was. The more I see it now, the more I get a little peeved. I just hope that Dish doesn't come back with some stupid commercial comparable to D*. An honest ad would be great from Dish. Tell everyone straight up how great your equipment is and the great line-up of HD channels you have.(The exact HD line-up)

The same way you can on Dish, OTA, Cable, FiOs, U-Verse, through my HAVA box.

Technical that would be your HAVA you are watching. You cannot watch your D* DVR without some kind of third party EXTERNAL box So the truth is you CANNOT watch your D* DVR on you phone.
