Directv DVR R10 question

Ive just got a question about somethin. I have a R10 directv dvr unit which i originally hooked up upon first setup to a phone line to get everything set up and after that its been unplugged. I am pretty sure pay per view purchases go through the phone line so i assumed you couldnt order a movie if it was unplugged. Well it did order it and listed it as a purchase but im wondering will i only be charged for it if i plug the phone line back in. And...do i need to plug the phone line in at all for any reason?If not seems like anyone could be watching boat loads of ppvs for free. But there must be something im missing. enlighten me will you.

You can make PPV movie purchases till your card is filled, about $150.00 worth then if you ever plug in the phone line you will get charged at that time for your purchases. You can get the PPV movies from their web site. The phone line is only needed for the first install setup , software upgrades, and PPV and other purchases like NFL or others.
