The DIRECTV HD DVR (HR20) does not require two lines to receive programming. However, I do not receive all HD channels with one line (getting service errors, etc.)

Any suggestions how to correct this without adding a second line?

In order for the HR20 to work with only one coax is that it be connected via SWM, either the SWM dish or the SWM module. The HR20 will work with only one line from a regular 5LNB dish, but you need the b-band converter connected.

I'm using the Slimline 5-LNB dish with the B-Band converter. Still the same issues though...

get the swm tech installed thats how 1 line will work or adjust your turner settings to single tuner
