directv in WMC

i am contemplating hooking up my D* receiver up to my PC via s-video. however, the problem with my E* receiver was that it wouldn't let me setup without an IR blaster. I don't want to waste any money because i can manually set everything up. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure what you're asking? All DirecTV receivers work with IR emitters.

I need to purchase an IR blaster for my PC. I am not sure what to buy.

Almost any IR emitter will work as long as the WMC PC has an output port for it.
