DirecTV launched SD Local into Local service for the Beaumont-Port Arthur, TX market today, 12/19/07. Stations available are:
KBMT-12 (ABC)
KFDM-6 (CBS)
KBTV-4 (NBC)
The national PBS feed is also available at no extra charge on channel 384.
A Ka-Ku dish and MPEG 4 HD receiver are required to receive these new local channels, but IIRC, DirecTV will provide the dish and one HD receiver for free. If you live in this market and already have HD, all you need to do is call in and have locals added to your account.
