Well I had Directv installed a little over 3 months ago and seem to be having rain fade issues where it seems to be going out sooner than it should and staying out longer than it should. My comparison is from previous being with Dishnetwork and have seen they are pretty much similar when it comes to rain fade. So, I thought I would post my #'s here since Directv seems worse for some reason and get some opinions on my signals. So, here they are. ___ Satellite 101 1-8 98/95/96/93/94/99/95/100 __ 9-16 95/96/95/95/95/100/95/100__ 17-24 95/74/95/96/94/100/95/100__ 25-32 95/41/94/100/95/100/95/100 __ Satellite 99(c) __ 1-8 94/95/88/93/94/95/89/93 __ 9-16 95/95/91/94/96/96/n/a/n/a__ 17-24 all say n/a 25-32 all say n/a __ Satellite 99(s) 1-8 82/89/77/82/0/96/n/a/n/a __ 9-16 n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a 57/0__ 17-24 97/96/0/0/94/83/63/69 __ 25-32 all say n/a __ Satellite 103(s) 1-8 75/0/59/0/0/0/ n/a n/a __ 9-16 n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a n/a 0/0 __ 17-24 97/96/44/49/79/85/0/0 __ 25-32 all say n/a __ Satellite 103(ca) 1-8 all say n/a __ 9-16 87/91/92/90/91/89/91/92 __ 17-24 92/90/92/91/91/89/92/94 __ 25-32 all say n/a __ Satellite 103(cb)__ 1-8 95/95/89/89/91/95/88/91 __ 9-16 93/95/89/92/93/95 n/a n/a __ 17-24 all say n/a __ 25-32 all say n/a. I thought that I would add that there was complete cloud cover when I took these #'s but it was not raining.

By the numbers you shouldn't have any abnormal outages. You may have a loose connection or a bad cable somewhere. There could be a temperature issue with the lnb, too. Has Directv come to check it out?

No I haven't had them come out yet. I was thinking of waiting till March right before the rainy spring weather. I guess it could be the coax cable because he reused the Dishnetwork coax, but the coax was only 2 years old prior. As for the lnb it could possibly be defective. I just know with Dishnetwork I never lost my signal for no more than 10 minutes and it was usually back in, but in 1 instance i've seen Directv go out for close to a half hour. I would say that being out for a half hour even in a down pour is a bit long.

sounds like a bad end. Even in downpours it may be out only a minute or so

Yeah that very well could be, but the trouble is finding which one cause I have the tool for the coax ends. I would just have Directv come out, but I do not have the Directv home protection plan just yet and was told by them that it takes a month or more to take effect when purchased.
