DirecTV TiVo question

Just upgraded my DirecTV service to TiVo this week and and while I love it, I'm slightly confused. There is a button on the remote labeled "window". I can't find anything in the manual about it and when I push it nothing seems to happen. What's it for?

Right now, it doesn't do anything.

Speculation it was to support PIP, but nothing's ever come of it.

Doubt it ever will.
