Hi all,
It looks like a FCC filing was accepted on friday related to the DirecTV5 satellite. It looks like they want to move the satellite back into it's orbital slot in order to improve service to Alaska and Hawaii. I didn't see any other posts regarding this filing so i wanted to mention it. The file number is: SAT-MOD-20231219-00320. If this isin't the appropriate subforum for this post please feel free to move it as necessary.

D5 is not providing service to Alaska/Hawaii, or anywhere else. It says they're doing this for "compliance with the Commission's geographic service rules". In other words, to keep Dish from trying to claim those 3 transponders for itself.
