DirecTV's Kingdom has added three key characters.

Cynthia Stevenson
(Men in Trees, Dead Like Me), M.C. Gainey (Lost, Justified) and Bryan Callen (In Plain Sight) have joined the mixed martial arts drama led by Captain America: The Winter Soldier's Frank Grillo, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Kingdom is described as a family saga set in Venice, Calif. against the backdrop of the renegade subculture of mixed martial arts (MMA). It is a world rife with complex characters and relationships that unfurl in surprising and deeply human ways.

Stevenson and Gainey will play the parents of Ryan Wheeler (Matt Lauria), a world-class athlete who had it all, including Lisa Prince (Kiele Sanchez), until his spiraling drug addition landed him in prison. Ryan is on good terms with his well-meaning mother, Marilyn (Stevenson), but has a tumultuous history with his rough-around-the-edges dad, Rick (Gainey). They will both appear in one episode.
