I plugged my HP computer into my Pioneer HD TV to try out the bluray player (had only been watching upgraded standard dvds) to see how the stellar clarity they brag about was, and I must say I was just whelmed. Not over, not under, just whelmed. Didn't look any better than my standard dvds. I'm wondering if I missed something? (like resetting resolutions or whatever?).

What method did you connect your player to the TV?

The issue is likely either in the connection or the outputing video card setup.

My BRD look amazing and easily better than upconverted DVD; ridiculously better than standard DVD.

I hooked it up via HDMI connection - your picture and amazement with Blu Ray was what I was expecting, but I couldn't see a substantial difference between my upconverting Sony dvd player with the Blue Ray playing....

Then likely the video card and its subsequent settings or output resolutions may be lacking; it may even downres if not compliant in some way.

How would I find that out? I thought all blu ray players/hd dvd players playback was supposed to be awesome...
