I'm beginning to wonder if this VP9 business is going to equate to a short life for the H3.

H265 is all that has been mentioned IIRC. I also do not think VP9 will have bearing on broadcast TV, and that is what concerns me most with the H3.

Not a surprise. Discovery, ESPN and HDNET were the first to go to HD. I expect ESPN will have a 4K feed soon (maybe they already have one).

Would love to see an 4Knet ran like the old HDnet (pre Ryan Seacrest) with a new "Get Out" series ... ;)
...as long as we don't get Art Mann in 4k :eek: I loved his shows, but 720p was more than good enough for his mug.

I propose UHDnet instead of 4Knet. They could also carry NASA's UHD channel when they run out of UHD content.
