DISH 3 RECORDING ISSUES

Is there anyone in the Dish community that can answer this question:
I record a program on a Dish3 unit. Let's say a 1 hour program.
Afterwards, when I go to the DVR section, that program may be broken up into two or three recordings - meaning 20 minutes on on line, 10 minutes on the second line, then 30 unites on a third line. In order to watch the entire program, I have to click on each recording to watch it in full!
Why does this happen?

Why does this happen?

Potentially, signal drops is a bigtime culprit for that

The only time such a thing happens to me is when the satellite signal/or OTA signal is interrupted or the receiver has rebooted in the middle of a recording.
