dahenny - THANKS, your statement is as positive as it gets. I`m ordering the 1000.4.
Thank you to all who provided information to this post.

I`m always looking for a higher signal number. Do I just need the youke & lnb or do I need a differnet arm?? IE Is the focal length the same for the + and .4????

Protocol calls for placing the .4 lnb assembly and arm onto the + reflector. I liked the fine tune rods on the .4, so I dismantled the skew plate from the .4, and incorporated it onto the + as well.

This is my 1000.5 EA setup. It has the .4 LNB, arm, and skew plate. The reflector is from my 500+/1000+ setup. The turnbuckles are from my old StarBand dish. My signal strength runs 4 or 5 points higher than when I was solely 1000.4. I'm in the middle of a remodel, so my coax is untidey.

dahenny - You`ve been a GREAT help. I`m going to do exactly as you did with the .4 arm, skew plate and WA lnb along with the + dish.
Thanks for all the handholding on my questions.

You won't be disappointed with that setup, but know that the bolt hole pattern is different on the .4 and + reflectors, so you can't just bolt the skew mount assembly up to the +. You'll need to disassemble the + skew assembly and add the piece that bolts to the reflector onto the .4 assembly. You'll see quickly what I'm talking about when the parts are in front of you. And of course if you don't care about the fine tuning features of the .4, you can just change out the lnb and lnb arm.
