My mother-in-law called me today and told me that her DISH 500 is only getting signals from one satellite. She said that she went through DISH Technical Support who had her try a few things, but it is still only getting signals from one satellite. Anyway, I have a DISH 301 and I am wondering if it would be worthwhile to try swapping those receivers. I think that it is time for them to consider upgrading to a newer receiver, but if this would get them by for a while longer it may be helpful.

well lets try and get some more info....

what kind of LNB setup does she have?
2 separate LNB's and a switch?
1 giant LNB?

what model receiver?

its possible the dish may have moved or a switch went out

They are getting some channels, but not others. If I understand it correctly, the channels they are getting are from one satellite and the other channels not being received come from a different satellite. If it could be a switch, would that be pretty easy to replace?

HD Locals keep going out

lost transponder on 119
