Dish 60.0 Remote

I see Dish has a newer remote. It is version 60.0. They want $20.00 online ($27.60 with tax and shipping). Amazon is showing it for $29.00 with free shipping but I can get it free with my Amazon reward points. It also says it maximum range is 30 feet, but on the Dish site it says it has a 150 foot range. Also on the Amazon site it says it is a generic brand not Dish. Does anyone know if this is a knock from the one available directly from Dish? They both show the same SKU of DN018897. Dish shows a one year warranty where as Amazon is showing 3 month warranty.
I kind of like the new layout of the buttons. Has anyone used this new remote and how does it compare to the 54.0 remote?

The 60.0 is a little bigger and better than the 54.0 but not by much. It added a couple of buttons, BUT THE LAYOUT IS WORSE! It is still missing buttons that should always be there. Everything takes 2-steps or more just because of missing buttons! Still no STOP, RECORD, INPUT. DOES ANYONE AT DISH HAVE A BRAIN? The 54.0 is just downright HORRIBLE! When will Dish wake up and realize that 40.0 remote was the best one they have ever made? Until a few weeks ago, I continued to use the 40.0 and was very, very happy! Now, with the new look and new upgrades (that's an oxymoron), some of the buttons on the 40.0 no longer work! Dish has broken the great 40.0 remote! The new guide is almost unusable. Dish appears to be actively trying to lose customers to the competition!

All the buttons I need work on the 40. What buttons don't work that you need? I would like to test to see if it's a new problem for me.

It's ugly as hell :wtf!!! i don't know why they just couldn't keep giving the echo dots out for new subs
Doesn't look attractive to me, either....sometimes that's all it takes to bias against. Why have commonly used functions ch & vol been relegated to the top rather than placing at midpoint where thumb naturally falls in single-handed use? How do you switch modes or know what mode it is in? Why are they fixing what was never broken?

Well, get ready, the 60 is the default remote shipping with new Hoppers and Joeys.

When I got the Hopper Plus box last month, everything changed - for the worse! The Guide is very different (awful), the colors are different, and the WONDERFUL 40.0 remote became mostly unusable. The Pause button and the Stop button no longer work. You can't pause playback at all! If you want to stop playback, you have to hit Select then Stop, the same keystrokes as the newer remotes.

must be something with the plus box software. I have a regular Hopper 3 and 2 Joeys. They better not mess up my 40 remotes too.

Yes, I agree. The Hopper Plus box is probably the culprit. I only got it so I could use additional apps from the Google Play Store. I'm about ready to unplug it to see if I can get my old Dish TV back and revive my precious 40.0 remote! 😁

IIRC your 40.0 remote is IR whereas the Hopper+ and Joey 4's require RF connections. Use a Dish 54 remote supplied with the H+.
