Hopefully shortly. Is there any update when the new 60.0 remote will be available?
Pictures?I have been testing one for a few months now
Pictures?
But if it looks like the one in the pics in the manual in the 2nd post, it looks like it's just another version of the current fewer-hard-buttons remotes - hard pass for me, I'll stick with the tried & true 40 remotes.![]()
The 'CC' and 'magnifying glass' buttons at the bottom of the remote are programable just like the diamond buttons on older remotes. No diamond buttons? Folks who use PIP, Multiview, etc won't want this one. Also appears not to be able to control fully TV, or AUX devices.
I hope the 54 series stays available, and that this is just an option for simple operation.
Fewer buttons means less usability. It means burying functions deep in menus, actually making some functions difficult to find or use.
I still use my 40.0 UHF remote often when playing back recordings since the 50 remotes make it more difficult to fast forward ( press and hold instead of a simple button press).
NOT TO MENTION the removal of the 4X fast forward from the entire system, it appears Dish is actually making things harder for many users. It is impossible to fast forward at 15X and accurately find a spot on a recording you are searching for.
Except the 10/30 sec skip hasn't been accurate for a couple of years now. I documented in earlier posts where Back will sometimes jump 10 sec, sometimes 30 and every once in a while while watching a recording it will jump all the way back to the beginning.I never used 4x, I used 10/30sec skip instead.
OK.. in that case, it seems like the only major loss of functionality might be the ability to control other devices. The 'CC' and 'magnifying glass' buttons at the bottom of the remote are programable just like the diamond buttons on older remotes.
The 2 buttons that are NOT on the 60.0 are "Options" and "Recall" found on the 54 remotes.OK.. in that case, it seems like the only major loss of functionality might be the ability to control other devices.
I'd still stay with the current remote, but I can see that this may be good for tech challenged folks, regardless of age.
