I wouldn't, unless you notice problems. I was using an cheap electric surge protector for my Prime star satellite receiver in 96 and I think that is why the electrical surges caused it to smoke. It was pretty old cheap surge protector. But Monster was pretty expensive in its day and I think it is made to last. So that is why I bought one after the experience with the Prime star receiver. Sorry, if I didn't make that more clear in my first post.I have my H3+ connected to a Monster surge protector that I purchased in 2007. Should I replace it?
