Thank you in advance guys. seems like every spring thaw and a wind storm or 2 during the winter I wind up with picture/reception problems with pixilation issues I have the antenna mounted on a 8X8 post that is stuck into the ground about 3' or more that aside, the channels I seem to have pixilation issues with and sporadic 721 message like when bad weather is about to roll in but the weather is clear at least no rain/storms It's overcast today when I marked down the reading below. The channels that seem to be effected the worst are lifetime network and DIY network not sure what satellite they come in on but her is my run down
satellite transponder signal strength%
101 1 98
110 8 69
119 22 95
99ca 9 95
99cb 1 95
99s - not acquired
103s - not acquired
103CS 9 95
103cb 1 95

I have I think the antenna is a swm slimline that runs 4 receivers and a slave 1 genie 3 HR 24/ X different models and one mini slave the Genie seems to have the best reception of all of them I do not have issues with my Local channels that is what the S satellites are for correct? looking for some insight. Seems like I have the dish locked in pretty rock solid but still get the pixilation issues :( I also get a sporadic 775 error message when I change channels. usually when the channel is switch to one of the ones that like to pixilate possibly a LNB issue . it pops up for about 5 seconds and goes away, my LNB has has 4 cables that come out of it anyone know the correct part for it? it has 3 heads on the lnb.

Most likely cause is your dish being out of alignment due to the mounting on the 8x8 instead of a pole properly footed in the ground. It could be the lnb. The type you have isn't a swm since you have 4 lines coming out of it. You might want to get a swm lnb and a power inserter to replace the lnb you have. Regardless, you should definitely get the dish properly mounted.

do the signals seem ok? I think they are dead on after I aligned it the other day. My system has some kind of an inverter in it right now I am just not sure what kind it is or what kind an LNB it has it may be one of the very first versions it does have 3 head on the end of the arm. with 4 lines coming out of it. I'm leaning towards the head being bad it has to be at least 7 years old maybe even more and it gets beat to hell in the winter weather we have here in NY. Thank you again in advance for any replies.

Since you have a Genie you must have a swm switch somewhere. If you got a swm lnb the switch would go away. The signal strength numbers seem okay, but you should post all of them on all of the satellites. The one thing that is bad is no signal at all on the 99s and 103s satellites. It's possible the lnb is bad. Have you tried calling Directv and asking about getting it replaced?

I ordered a replacement LNB today from solid signal it's less then a the price of a service call so will see if that fixes it. I did post all the satellite signal and transponders off the satellite set up page I though it was odd that the 99 and 103 show not acquired. all the other ones are rock solid % wise quite possibly the best I have ever archived trying to adjust the dish. not sure which beam on the LNB the 99 and 103 are on but if I were a betting man I would say they uses the same one? will see what happens they say they ship out most orders the same day. I'm outside of Buffalo NY and it's coming from Michigan. I looked on ebay they were around the same price and a lot of people selling either knock off parts or used ones. the one I got said OE directv. will see ...

Remember, OE doesn't mean new.

Almost everyone will have some signal on at least one transponder on either 99s or 103s, even if they don't have locals via a spotbeam. There might be some parts of west/central USA that get no signals.

There shouldn't be anywhere you don't see something on each, the way D11 & D12 do their spotbeams each basically covers the US. D14 is the only one that did like Dish and designed their spotbeams for specific markets.

Yes, I'm thinking back to earlier in the days of spotbeams where some parts of the rural midwest got nothing.

It should register if you wait long enough. For spot beams, the receiver will move from transponder to transponder pausing on each one whil it tries to access a signal. Soi if your local spot beam is on one of the higherr transponders you have to wait a while to get there.

True. The CONUS numbers populate in a couple of seconds, the spot beam numbers take 30 seconds or so to all show up.

Well my LNB showed up today and slapped it in and it seems to have fixed it. It's been on for about an hour now and no pixilation at all no 771 signal loss messages I think It's fixed guys thank you as always you guys rock it!
Oh FYI I still do not have any signal that shows up on the (S) satellite's but have all my locals with out an issue. I got the part pretty quickly. the shipping was quicker then they sent the item out and it's Brand spanking new. seems like a good place to buy from. First purchase from them I'd look their way again in the future.

What;s your zip code? You must have a signal on 103s or 99s somewhere because your "secondary locals" (i.e. not the "big four" ) definitely come from somewhere.

If he's actually in Lancaster, its one of these ...
14004, 14026, 14031, 14043, 14059, 14086 or 14221

the above poster is correct I'm at 14086 and this Am it is still glitching a bit no where near as often and as much as it was I had it on for 2 hours last night and our main gene hardly ever does it but the h24's do it more often. I have yet to see the 771 message which was very frequent and every time it pixilated the picture would actually freeze and get the message maybe every 2 or 3 minutes now it's maybe every 15 minutes and just pixilation no picture freeze so what's my next move call DirecTV? all my signals are right on and very tong except for the 2 (s) signals the dish aim can't be off can it if it's just those 2 that are missing? the cannels I have noticed it on are Lifetime (my wife watches that) just a disclaimer NFL network and food network not so much on my local channels but it does.

It sounds like you aren't leaving the signal strength page up long enough. The numbers take longer to populate than on the CONUS satellites. Your locals are on 103s 21 and 103s 22. Try leaving the page open for a minute or two and see if it shows anything on those two transponders. Also, please post all of your numbers on all of the satellites. I'm still thinking your dish isn't properly aligned.
