how many win and are bankrupt in a few years :facepalm
Many. Personally I dont do any lottery playing.

I joke above, but I do enjoy casino gambling as strictly entertainment. I take what I am willing to lose, and that is it. (I also put into investment accounts what I can).

To me, its stress relief, and some years it actually has been profitable.

That said, I know farrrrrrr too many that can not handle it as a hobby, and blow most of their money on it.

All I can say is preaching in general on how well you have done hits many hard. Like so many, its not just saving money, opportunities have a part in it. Maybe what school you attended, this aint cookie cutter, do X,Y,Z and you got it made. Way to simple thinking in a complex world!

Yep, there was a guy on another forum trying to shame me because I hadn't been saving $200 a month every month since I was 18 like he did. I said, "Dude, when I was 18 I was in college and working at Wendy's. I was lucky to be able to pay my bills." Not everybody can get "a small loan of a million dollars" from daddy, either!

I used to love playing slots, and sometimes won several hundred bucks, but it seems like most of the casinos have really gotten tight with their slots lately!

It's not the saving money part that some may take issue with.. it could be the bragging part... not that bragging is illegal, but it's not always appreciated
It's the belief that everyone can do the same that rubs me raw. I know people who barely get by and/or are clueless to how investing works.

Who is bragging, I bring up what I did, in hopes that others will do the same, better to save and invest, instead of wasting it on moronic activities like gambling.

I wouldn't be comfortable sharing my financial situation and decisions as flagrantly and often as you have over the years, especially in threads where the topic of the thread isn't financially related.

I do tables and slots. But if I'm just wanting to have a good time and kill time I do like slots. Older ones moreso than the new ones.

I find serious table players tend to get more irritated by someone playing for fun.

Had one guy at a blackjack table get mad at me for splitting tens (I was having a good time). Ended up hitting blackjack and 19 and winning both hands.

He kept on, I was like dude. It's a $10 table. You're not playing big money and it isn't that serious. If you keep sitting here bitching about it I'm gonna do it every hand I get until you leave. Lighten up Francis.

He left. lol.

Video Poker can be fun too, and usually the bartenders comp your drinks if you're playing VP at the bar (at least in Vegas they do)
That's one thing I like about Biloxi. I haven't paid for a drink there in years.

Vegas I haven't either but I have seen they are a tad more stingy on some things. A lot of Boyd properties there won't comp a Red Bull with a vodka. They use something else. (Unless you get to know them pretty well)

Ceasars on video poker will watch and after two comps will see what you're betting.

All said though, never had an issue with it personally.
