The new Joey 4K coming out will have Bluetooth built in I believe and there was mention of bluetooth adapters for the existing Joeys.

Since smarthome is a Hughesnet product now, I would hope that it would not be limited to Hughesnet customers.

I was also at CES 2015 last week. Love the new eye friendly UI & remote they are releasing in June. It is a definite improvement over the failed 922 "beta" remote. Makes me almost want to come back to Dish. Not really feeling the 4k vibe yet. (They were demonstrating 8k at another booth -Not Dish) The available programming just isn't there yet. I've seen G.I. Jane in 4K and wasn't overly impressed. The 8k time lapse videos were sweet at CES, but the sheer bandwidth required for streaming 8k is unreal right now.

It is a tactile remote with a definitive "click" when you press on the pad.

And I got a Joey (He really enjoyed himself in Vegas...)
