I don't know if it has been mentioned in this Yahoo forum or not, but, if you are going to be a new Dish customer and have not yet signed up, you can get $50 off the activation (on TOP of the $49.99 credit on your first bill) by using a Dish Club member's Referral code--making sure they register the proper number.
This should work whether online, by phone, or with a local retailer (I don't think Radio Shack will allow it with their new $9.99 Activation fee promotion) and sure does help towards the $250 942 HD DVR, which is well worth it--have had it for almost 2 weeks and wow--the PQ is the best ever!
