This may seem a bit basic but haven't been able to find this answer...

If I subscribe to dish locals, will I be able to receive conus beam channels
as well.... If the answer is no... is there a way to accomplish this...

Thanks

If by "conus beam" you mean the stand stuff like HIST, HBO, CNN, ESPN, then of course you can.

If you mean distant networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX), then the answer is likely to be no.

Big discussions on that under the heading of SHEVRA.

If you're worried that it's a hardware limitation of some sort, it's not.

Thanks for the various responses ... looking at the lyngsat listings, some of my locals from my old home town are carried by the sub via conus beam.... my assumption would be that I would be able to receive any conus beam that the sub provides ... looking at the responses I've received, I think that is correct.

Thanks to alll ... appreciate the responses... I'll keep reading...

The current law states you can only receive locals for the town you currently live in. Except in rare cases where you cannot receive locals.

You're close except it's the DMA (Designated Market Area) that you live in which may or may not be the town you live in.
