I have Dish and a Tivax STB-9 converter for ota. Can I purchase TR40CRA remote (Dish) for combo use?

No, the remote for the TR40CRA can only control the converter or an IR receiver with remote address 1. The remote for the TR40CRA converter can not even control your tv.
The Dish 3.2 remote for single tuner satellite receivers can control the TR40CRA (set to remote address 1) and your tv. As for the Tivax STB-9 converter, I'm not sure. My guess is probably not since those remotes have been around longer than the converters.
