Dish/Echostar 1st Quarter Report

Same, amazing how saving, investing for over 30 years and not touching that investment account until you retire, can affect so much.

I wish younger people could understand that.

Amazing how so many cannot grasp that. Many junior enlisteds saw that amount of money and just HAD to spend it.

Last sentence in that article is telling.
Sounds like Charlie gets out of making any more of the payments and can possibly include all his other debt into one reorganization bankruptcy and get rid of the FCC meddling at the same time. Might be the best thing for Charlie and use the FCC as the reason.

I planned our retirement so well, we actually now have a higher standard of living. Can travel more. Cruise once a year, maybe more.
Every time I hear about cruise ships, it always reminds me of the new stories I heard about the ship being a floating Petri dish of bacteria and Norovirus. People all getting sick at the same time and they don't know which end is up. But hey, enjoy! ;)

I wish younger people had more access to that.

Those stories are few and highly anecdotal as far as what to anticipate. I'm actually going on my 1st cruise in about a week, however it's not on one of these megaships but rather a European river trip on Viking. No kids, no casino. So I'll see how it goes.

Only problem with that is - he no longer would be the "decider" and the stockholders (he in particular) being at the bottom of the creditor list.

Without it going political?
Saving money should not be political.

But if they are hitting up Starbucks every day for one example, that is about $10 per day( with tip), or basically $300 a month, that could go into a savings, or better, investment account.

I could go into the pricing of Satellite TV, but I do not believe the under 40 crowd subscribe to it in any great quantity anymore.

But what about streaming or paying for nonsense in online games? You seem to be of the opinion that the youth is simply blowing it all on frivolity

Streaming is a lot less expensive than Traditional Live TV, plus there are ways to save even more money, you could get the with commercials plan of each service, still be around $40-50 a month for Paramount+, Peacock, MAX, Netflix and Hulu/Disney.

As far as online gaming goes, does anyone really need it, but there are less expensive options.

I've been on 30+ cruises in the last 20 years and only once came home sick (possibly covid, but I never tested because I want to be able to say I've never had it).

Just wash your hands religiously many times a day (Clorox and Ivermectin).

I am at the age I can do both. I ordered a Starbucks mobile order picked it up and they wrote a nice slogan on the cup saying ( you got this ) It was definitely worth the money to have a hot macchiato with uplifting words of encouragement to read while watching my satellite tv service. Life is good and I do have this . :)

Good luck. Bottoms up.

Couple of other things going on.

First, has a June 14, 2025, buildout deadline for the spectrum.

Second, EchoStar requested a meeting with FCC Chairman Carr, which he declined.
