Dish gives wrestling fans another .....

Well, I decided to upgrade my dish network to HD when I found out that WWE was changing formats to HD. I was already locked in a contract to I figured I would go ahead.

I knew that they didn't have Usa HD and Sci-Fi HD. But I figured since they brag about being the HD leader and Direct Tv has more channels that they would have everything up and running here real soon. Guess I was wrong.

To make matters worst. I try ordering the Royal Rumble in HD and find out they seem not to have it offered in HD. Although it is on there HD ppv channel. They can't seem to find it in there database. How is that? So, after four phone calls. I decide to hook up the phone line. Now when I go to order it, it says that this program can no longer be viewed. WTF! I am a wrestling fan that just wants to experience wrestling at it best. But dishnetwork seems to have other plans for me. I am so pissed off. I hope they get all the bugs worked out before sunday.

If anyone else has had that problem let me know. Or let me know when you are able to order it. HD PPV Channel 9467

I beleive that if you order the SD version, and you have an HD receiver, you will get the HD version as well. Dont quote me on that, but the way it says it online seems that way.

Neither do I, but Speed HD will be covering other Motor racing in HD, Namely F1.

Now that is racing, and get this every F1 Course has RIGHT turns.

Just for the record I was not trying to slam the wrestling fans. I'm just surprised at how many posts there are about wanting it in HD.

In defense of Nascar, at least the winner isn't predetermined by a script.

You either get it or you don't. Personally, I can't live without wrestling, but I understand that is seems completely ridiculous to others. In fact, I even promoted my own show! It's cool.

For wrestling fans who get defensive, think about it like this, if pro wrestling didn't exist, could you sell the concept to someone?

"OK, Sid, we have oiled up bodybuilders, in their underwear, pretending to fight! You can make the check out to me!"

Anyway, back on topic, run a check switch and then do a search for Royal Rumble and you can order it on 9467.

Well I went ahead and ordered on channel 455 or something like that. The pre order channel. I ordered it and it went threw. I didnt want to have any problems come sunday. Anyways it told me what channels it was on. It did not list 9467.
So, I went ahead and Clicked on 9467 and went to the RUmble. I clicked on it, and it asked me if i wanted to record it. Not BUY it. So I am guessing that if you order the normal one you get the HD on automatically. That is what it just seemed like.
I think the Dish folks are just doing there job. They are there to collect a paycheck. They dont know about the corporate happenings. They probably know more about the person sitting next to them than what channel NBC airs on.
Anyways, as long as I know it is ordered and ready to record. Now I can calm down.
For those wrestling fans, like me and everyone else. We always have to defend ourselves. Why do you like this? You know it is fake? YEAH we know it is fake. But I don't think I can live with out it. Seinfield is fake, Soap Operas are fake, Most of National T.V. is fake. You dont go around and ask people why do you like that? You know that is not there real name.
You know we watch wrestling for the same reasons, people watch umm... Nascar, Football, Greys Anatomy, for the sole purpose of being ENTERTAINED!

Update:

When you order the PPV, you get both SD, and HD, Im curently dvr'ing the HD version.

Looks like Directv subs got shafted!

There is a glitch on the Dish version of the HD audio stream. SD audio is fine.

I never understood the draw to wrestling or Nascar.... haha... to each their own though.. my sport is hockey first, football second.... some hate hockey. I hate wrestling and Nascar... although I would probably attend a Nascar race the way I sit through the occasional baseball game just because live sometimes makes boring bearable. But you couldn't pay me to sit through a wrestling event live unless you were talking several hundreds or thousands of dollars to buy my time to attend. Wrestling is the worst... but again, to each their own.

To the guy that is pissed at Dish, join the crowd. They are getting really bad real fast.
