My neighbor needs her dish moved a contractor was there Monday and told her this, He told her they had to do a ground search before he could move the dish they have not shown up yet. She called a CSA to complain and the CSA told her she had to pay 50.00 to move the dish, She pays a monthly maintenance fee is this right? Another thing does anybody know a number for her to call besides a CSR to complain she hasn't had half her channels for about a month?

I had my dish moved last Fall because my roof was replaced due to storm damage and it was, indeed, $50 to move it and I have dish protect silver. They also tried to charge me $10 additional for a truck roll but I managed to get that waived. As far as the loss of channels imho she should've called a lot sooner

She did call sooner the closest appointment took a week and a half, This is stupid stuff if you ask me.

Well it's not stupid stuff because if a pole is going in the ground, Dish policy and many state laws require a locating service to come out to mark the area, first. Dish requires 1 week, minimum before they come back to do the pole mount, but that appointment is set with the customer on the first visit - normally.

#2 Most CSR's have limited ability to modify fees and billing and most of those are not trained properly to deal with certain situations as they come up.

3, I agree, she should have called when her channels first disappeared

Did she lose the channels because something was blocking the satellite (trees?), and that's what's forcing the dish to be moved? And if she's been without half her channels for about a month, but it took 10 days to get the appointment, what about the other 2 1/2 weeks? Did she just live without half her channels?

Actually it is stupid stuff the whole area has been checked before for gas lines and underground cable there should be a report on this the present contractor was told this but that's beside the point. This all started with a bad contractor moving the dish in the first place, He took two separate dishes combined two apartment's into using one dish went the wrong way with the dish. He should have seen this problem was coming back and went the other way with the dish trees do grow especially younger trees , Oh by the way this was a year or so ago and why he combined one dish that had a problem with one that did not I can't figure that one out. That's what I mean by stupid stuff the present contractor is just trying to cleanup another ones mess and I guess I should explain a little better when I start a thread lol, I did call for my neighbor to see if I could get that moving dish fee waved and got it knocked down to 25 bucks.

Yes it's a tree problem she's not getting the 129 satellite and you have to understand she is a older person actually two in two separate apartments that share one dish that do not know anything about this stuff that have just lived with this problem for a while and would still be if I had not said something about it, This is turning into one big mess.

That explains a lot. Like the fact it's an apartment for one, and that the last tech used an existing dish. Even if the area has been checked before, Dish still requires a mark, no older than 30 days

It's really not a mess. My point was you're complaining that this is taking a month to fix when for 2 1/2 weeks, no one notified Dish. So how can you complain about that?
