Hello,
I currently have Dish Network (Super Dish) and have an installer coming to setup WildBlue Internet.

Is there any possibility of using the same cable for WildBlue and Dish?

I would hate to have more wires running along my house with extra holes being punched.

I didnt know if the installer would be able to hook up to the switch that was installed - any chance the dish already points in the correct direction?

Thanks for the feedback!

Notice:
Please ensure when purchasing cable for WildBlue installations that the cable is 100% solid copper center conductor. Copper clad cabling has proven to be problematic in the field with the WildBlue system. Even if the copper clad cabling appears to work, it will often lead to service failures in the future. Using only cables from the approved list ensures successful installation and high performance with the WildBlue system.

Testing has indicated that TFC cables do not work and should not be used for the WildBlue system.

I think what he wants to know is can he diplex the satellite signal and the wildblue signal so he dosent have another line drop going down/into his house....I am not sure, but I am sure someone will chime in here soon!

Cable Needs to be 100% solid copper center conductor and 3GHz.

So..... No to the diplex question.

The WildBlue system needs to be on its own lines for there system also there would be a problem as dish is a oneway system and WildBlue is a 2 way system and cant be put on the same cableing as dish, This is what i was told during my install not sure how true it is, was just told this is why.

No Wildblue will need their own two cables from the dish to the modem. One is for transmit the other is for receive.

Wildblue and DBS dishes use similar frequency ranges on the cable as well so you can't diplex them together. Also Wildblue send 24v down the transmit line so I am sure that would not be good for the Dish stuff. Infact the Wildblue dish transmits enough power that you can't be hurt by it. So The dish is required to be mount on at least a 6' pole or on a roof where people can't mess with it.

OK, that was basicly what I was asking - if I could use existing cables with Wild Blue and Dish or if they both required their own.

I had a feeling that new cables would need to be ran, but wanted to check fist.

I just didnt want to see another set of black cables running along the side of my house.
