DISH Network CENSORING Free Preview

funny qvc is family programming but abc family channel is not, what the heck is dish thinking
from now on they should have disclaimer free preview to all except family pack, but they wouldnt come right out and say that

FALSE ADVERTISING AS US FAMILY PACK SUBS GET NO FREE PREVIEW

There are serious questions about the appropriateness of ABC Family as family friendly programming. At one point it was regularly showing reruns of Alias, for instance.

I've got to agree with those stating that this sounds like what subs to the Family Pack would want Dish to do. I wouldn't think they would get any of the premium channel free previews.

If Dish did offer the preview, I would expect them to get a lot of complaints from subs. That is, assuming they have a lot of subs to the Family Pack tier.

That is what I was trying to say Tom. I honestly thing that the majority of the Family Pak subs would be upset that the HBO "garbage" (not my opinion, but the opnion of the target audience of the family pak) would be in their homes.

Stone - I totally understand your comments. They probably should add that to any press releases, but I would thing that most people wouldnt know about the preview unless they were members of one of these fourms.

yup, i would have had no idea if scott didnt tack it to the front page

I enjoy your posts (and have for some time), so I hope you don't think that I am singling you out. I just think that you are making more of a deal out of this than 99.9% of the family pak subscribers will. (Also, I have read your previous posts and I remember how you ended up with the family pak only and I know that you are not the target audience).

Hehe, I know, and after your ordeal, I totally understand. I hope you understand that I really do understand your point of view and I hope you hold no ill will. I just disagreee with your point of view on this one issue.

I subscribe to only the Old HD Pack + Voom, and I get the HBO Preview. It doesn't get locked out in my guide until Wednesday. Since I don't subscribe to an SD package, I think it is safe to say that they blocked the Family Pack from the preview based on content rather than it being the cheapest SD subscription.

I have the top sixty package and I have the previews, they are not on the regular channels,

285-299 instead of the actual channels.

better double check. Doesn't seem you missing much from what I saw.

Make sure you check your ALL SUB list occasionally. I wasn't seeing them because I use a favorites list.

Keep in mind also that if you get the family package they will not allow you to subscribe to the Porn channels.

DISH is marketing this as a Family oriented package with programming that is 100% kid safe!!!!!

Your subscribing to the family pack more than likely because you like the $19.99 price point!

If you want your HBO Free Preview, upgrade to Top60 for 3 days :)

Its obvious SP is mad at Dish Network and regardless of what Dish would have done in this situation, SP would have had a problem with it.

Situation #1: Dish gives everyone including the Family Pack the free HBO preview.
SP's response: I can't believe that Dish would show all this highly offensive material in the family pack.

Situation #2: Dish doesn't include the preview, and we all know that SP is complaining that he doesn't get the preview.

Bottom line, Dish can't win

Actually Claude I am watching it on my Directv subscription. I am just upset with the idea that DISH is choosing what they will allow me to watch. Isn't the 3 months of Starz free available for new subscribers with the Family Pak?
