DISH NETWORK® TO BEGIN BETA PROGRAM FOR RETAILERS ATTENDING 12TH ANNUAL TEAM SUMMIT
Englewood, Colo. – May 8, 2009 – Today, DISH Network® announced its first ever beta program for retailers attending the company’s 12th Annual Team Summit in Denver. DISH Network’s First Look Beta Program will feature the ViP®922 and is designed to solicit important feedback about the software and overall user experience from retailers in advance of the receiver’s public launch to consumers.
Announced in January, the ViP 922 is an award-winning dual tuner HD DVR with a one terabyte hard drive and new, tile-based graphics user interface. The ViP 922 incorporates Sling technology, which allows consumers to take their TV programming with them wherever they go, via their computers, laptops and mobile devices.
“DISH Network’s First Look Beta Program puts the ViP 922 into the hands of some of the best product experts out there: DISH Network retailers,” said Ira Bahr, Chief Marketing Officer for DISH Network. “By collecting input from our retailer base, we will enhance the development process and make the ViP 922 the most exciting multichannel receiver on the market.”
Under DISH Network’s First Look Beta Program, a limited number of ViP 922 receivers with Sling technology will be available starting in June for retailers who attended the event. During the program, retailers can place the ViP 922 receiver on their showroom floor and get acquainted with this breakthrough receiver. Retailers will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the software and experiences in order to improve the new receiver before public launch.
During the three-day retailer retreat, classes will be available for retailers to learn more about the ViP 922’s new user interface, touchpad remote control and Sling technology. In addition, classes will also be available about proper ViP 922 installation.
In its 12th year, Team Summit is an annual trade show hosted by DISH Network designed to create educational and networking opportunities for its thousands of valued retailers and partners. This year’s Team Summit takes place at The Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
