DISH Network Satellite Map

As seen below in the DISH Network Satellite Map, there are red x's and black x's. Is there a significance to the color differences? I tried searching, but could not find an explanation.

It looks like the red X's are modulation types that are not compatible with most DISH receivers still being used.

So in my situation in a motorhome, I have one Wally and one VIP211K. The red x's would be viewable on my Wally, but not the VIP211K, correct?

Incorrect. The 211K is a 8PSK compatible receiver. Much older, really older, models are the ones that would not be able to view.
