Dish products that missed the mark or never made it to market

Well, the Hopper with sling is such a great receiver, what will Dish release next that could possibly beat it. Anything in the works?

Didn't they sell tvs at 1 time?

We actually sold some of them. Some were a projection style and some were LCD. I used one for my PC monitor for a few years. They were pretty crappy TVs, I think they were actually RCA brand with Dish's logo on them.

I remember the first time Dish and Direct talked about a merger. They had this mesh prototype dish, maybe even a dual reflector to keep the size of it down (like what WildBlue used), to use orbital locations from both providers. I am curious as to why they do not go with mesh. It would help prevent windload and may be lighter and cheaper.

It wasn't too many years ago that Dish was showing a 1000.2 antenna that was a mesh design.

Except they will call it the SUPER DOOPER UHD HOPPER.

They were made by RCA and had high failure rates and as others have found out DISH didn't repair them.
