Here's my prediction. Some lambs will be slaughtered as far as HD, but it will be the current non HD Disney channels. ESPN will probably fully resurrect .

Seems like some would prefer bad news to no news. In this case, no news is a good sign; so complaining about it is foolish.

Oh come on. You guys act like people complaining and asking questions isn't fun. It keeps some people coming back trolling this thread waiting to comment and over use this

I do agree with dangue!! True words my friend.

I think you should just let people be frustrated and vent if they truly are, makes em fell better. All the "I dont like sports" trolls just stir em up more. Who is more at fault?

Anyone ever thought that the reason we dont hear any news is that maybe the deal is done. The channels we currently have is gonna stay the same,no changes, just putting it out there as a possibility.

No. If a deal was done, there would be a press release touting that fact and how long it will last.

Meanwhile, inside the war room.....

Dish: We won't give up auto hop. Logos come off.

Disney: We'll give Charlie a lifetime pass to Disney World. Logos go back up.

Dish: People on Satellite Guys are threatening to switch to DirecTV if they can't watch Dog With A Blog in HD on the Disney Channel. Logos come off.

Disney: Dish will never drop us because the new season of Walking Dead starts this weekend. Oh wait, that's on AMC.... Logos go back on.

Dish: Some intern spills a soda on his keyboard. In his frantic panic to clean it up he accidently deletes the Disney related logos. Logos are back off.

Well only a small portion of Dish customers have probably upgraded to a hopper. I would bet that just about all hopper customers select the yes option to auto hop if they are watching a PTAT show the next day. Why wouldn't they?

Overall most of Dish's customers aren't using auto hop because it isn't available to them. As we go forward, that percentage will continue to increase.

From the way I understand it, as I don't have it (I have a 722, a 622, and 2 211s with the EHD connected to all of them in my house), you only have a few days to watch the content before it goes away. I primarily binge watch series after they have been in there for weeks, so this wouldn't work for me. I would still only want to record the shows, ads and all, and watch them back at my leisure and skip past the commercials manually (hardly a hardship). Plus sometimes the ads are worth watching (movie trailers, funny ads, etc.).

No you can keep them as long as you want. The PTAT folder only keeps shows for 8 days but you can save any series you want. The auto hop feature remains on old episodes even if they are past the 8 day window.

Thanks for the correction. As my current receivers work fine, I wasn't anxious to spend the money to upgrade the whole house (and extend my commitment). Right now, if they do something colossally stupid like cancel ESPN and ABC (I am in the NYC DMA), I can tell them to go flip and get Verizon Fios as they already have me for phone and internet. The only thing keeping me around has been a better receiver/larger capacity with the four receivers/guide, & my archived content (less critical thanks to Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon VOD on my Xbox). I've been a subscriber since 5/2000, but their dropping of critical channels (ALL of the New York RSNs are gone now and they black out almost all of the ESPN/TBS/etc. games for the local teams) have me this close to ripping the dish off the roof and going back to the wired guys.

True, but refusing to carry ALL (or even ANY in the NYC DMA) of the local RSNs is a distinctly E*-esque maneuver. I'm not a huge sports nut, but I miss being able to watch the occasional Mets game (granted, the team has been unwatchable for the last three years, which has eased the pain). Due to that, the blackouts kill any method of seeing the games as I can't simply flip to the other channel that is not blacked out like the other 90% of viewers in the country can.....

Well said. I miss having SNY after the couple seasons I did. The state of the Mets made giving it up easier for sure, but I still miss the banter of Gary, Keith and Ron. Thought they made an excellent broadcast team. Also used to get a kick out of the Loudmouths sports talk program, too.

problems with DVD and DVR since hooking up new TV

Is this the same ehd ???
