I am sure in time someone will offer a complete locals package for those that want only OTA, that they cannot get with an antenna, but likely it will be streaming.

I'd love a "Locals Pack" with just 10 or so local channels for $10 per month. Would that even be possible?

Not any longer considering locals alone are $12.00 now. Get an antenna and a usb ota tuner and you can still get your locals and drop the satellite local charge.

Agreed, but why raise the price of the Welcome Pack? It's the most basic package they have and it doesn't have any expensive channels such as ESPN or movie channels to cause an increase.

Well, others have answered this (almost everything gets more expensive over time), but I think it is worth pointing out that at least Dish offers the Welcome Pack and other packages to help its customers keep their costs down. Are the prices as low as all of us would want? No, but given the circumstances, I think they are the best we can hope for.

OTA antenna is not an option for me. Satellite is my only option.
