I am looking for a possible solution to the Subject in the title here. Windows 10 PC A bunch of Ram, Terrabytes of HD Space, 1GB internet etc. Hopper3 and Joey on my system. Hard wired not wifi. When I am playing a show either recorded DVR or Streaming on my PC and I rewind 10 seconds 3 plus times the show locks up and I have to go back and start the show over again. Same if I try to fast foward 3 plus times. I do pause in between each rewind click or Fast forward click.Maybe this is the way it is for everyone.I called DIsh and also did an online chat. I got the usual scripted trouble shooting. I do hear on the internet searched that the DIshANywhere on a computer basically is very bad. I am open to suggestions

Thank You so much for the suggestion. I will definately try this and report back my results. I would guess some type of buffering issue. Heck anything now days should be able to buffer an entier show, ha ha but serious.
I am not having any luck with the beta.disanywhere.com site either. I can rewind sometimes 4 or 5 x 10 seconds but then my dishanywhere just locks up with 3 red boxes scrolling in the middle of the screen. I have to exit the show, live or recorded, then go back into the show. I will keep searching and really do appreciate this tip.

I've experienced the lock-up and getting kicked out when trying to rewind a couple times, practically 100% of the time. It's when I'm watching football and want to review something.

Just now I tried and it's working. It's working on all the channels that I watch streaming through the Hopper.

I'll see if it's load-related when some server is highly loaded during the football games next weekend. Good to know I'm not alone.

dishanywhere has alwas been iffy problematic since the day it came out, slow to transition from low res to high slow to skip or jump, providing it cause some issue that make freeze or stop some other problem like constant buffer. some time it wont even start the feed. last time I used dishanywhere started defaulting back to feeds from hopper instead of using internet stream feed and the internet stream feed is only feed that actual worked right. I dont know if that was fixed and defaulted back to internet stream though.

only use when I not home and cant use the boxes, and experience is so bad most time I rather just steam from plutotv or any other stream platforum. unless what I wanted to watch was something that was dvr and have no other way to watch, in which case I will watch dvr and never tought skip or anything most time it freeze up or end the feed.

Dishanywhere is horrible experience imo and always has been. at least i have never enjoyed using since it be came thing.

I'm not sure how our experiences are tied to the Hopper's internet connection speed. I've been connected with DSL 3Mb/s (horrible DishAnywhere performance), 30Mb/s microwave link (still bad), 50 Mb/s LTE (bad), to now 1Gb/s symmetric fiber (DishAnywhere works as I'd expect).

Now for me, it starts up low rest but quickly goes to a very good resolution on the PC when streaming from the Hopper. All the web streaming is very good too.

I use DA mostly when watching NFL Season Ticket (on PC) and having a DA window open on the PC. Anything from 6-8 NFL streams plus the DA window work OK on my PC. These are the conditions when the rewind tends to lock up DA.

We made use of the DishAnywhere app on our AppleTV 4K when we went on vacation this summer. Normally we would have activated our owned ViP 211k but you pay for a month of service and we were on vacation for less than a week. It worked rather well, and the only downside was when the Internet went out on the Mainland and knocked out all land-based communications. Less of an issue was Local TV stations as most came in OTA; watching locals from DishAnywhere used the OTA dongle on our Hopper 3 at home so any weather reports were from 300 miles south.
