DIY Dish Install

I read on one post that this was no longer going to be allowed by DishN?
I did the assorted searches but found no other comment.
I have in the past installed all my own systems.
This time I had the 'pros' do it. (I have issues)

Is this policy true?

Self-installing is very highly discouraged, but it isn't prohibited.

You may or may not be able to take advantage of any promotions.

Both E* and D* have spent waaaay too much on self-installers that weren't nearly as awesome as they thought they were. As you've noticed though, they must not spend enough on the installers that they do send out.
