I just had a thought come to me... maybe someone can tell me if this is a good/bad idea. I was thinking of using a used security multiplexer to feed my TV multiple recievers so I can do more than one thing at one time (I.e. scan with one reciever while watching the other without A/B switches and such)

There are color ones out there. I just gotta wait until I find a cheap one on ebay.

Oh I thought you had one already but it is a good idea and they probably are cheaper now as the DVR has been the choice for security these days.
Good luck with it and its nice to see members tinkering around with different stuff.

Dave

Be careful before you invest. There is a world of difference(expence) in a multisource monitor that expects common sync video sources than one that will handle unlocked video
sources, such as multiple satellite receivers.
