Doctor Who

A meh episode to bring back the 1st Doctor and give a send off to Capaldi. But then end of an era.

I am really surprised that it took this long for that particular historical event to be featured.

Watched the Christmas special off of Amazon and I waited to see the Doctor transform and they wait till the very last minute to show that. I don't know how this will change the Doctor being a woman for the first time. I imagine it will be funny for a while, during the transition period for the Doctor . Getting used to having boobs and a much different wardrobe.

With the exception of Colin Baker to Slyvester McCoy, every regeneration has been at the very end.

The only reason 6-7 was at the beginning is Colin had been fired so he refused to do the episode with a regeneration at the end, so they slapped a wig onto Sly McCoy.

My son made a hilarious comment at the end of the episode. When the tardis started to burn and then crash, he said, "that's what they get for turning him into a woman driver".
I ALMOST said the same thing to my husband

Are there any men actors left in England that HAVEN'T played Doctor Who at one time or another? This lets them start all over again with the women actors. LOL

I vote for Tatiana Maslow that did Orphan Black. She is excellent playing different clones on that show and she would kill as Dr. Who.

I thought this was one of the better Christmas episodes. And a female Doctor can hardly be unexpected after they brought in Missy (the Master as a female Time Lord (Lady?)) and brought up The Corsair back in the Tom Baker days.

And we know the Tardis has a female personality. It might be jealous of a Female Doctor after all these centuries of men and taken steps to remove her. I predict the Tardis will be the stand-in for the Fans that can't handle an untraditional Doctor.

Did a search on Dish Guide for Doctor Who, and found a Five Minute episode listed for TONIGHT on BBCA. Titled "The Regeneration," it's

running from 11:50 to 11:55 pm (MST) tonight.

"A look back at The Regeneration." Five minutes. Hmmm...
