Effective September 9, 2009, The Documentary Channel will no longer be carried as a public interest channel and will be moved into the Classic Bronze 100 and higher programming packages. This change will affect both new and existing customers.

Prior to September 9th, all DISH Network customers with an applicable antenna pointed to the 110° or 72.7° orbital locations were able to receive The Documentary Channel. Effective September 9th, new and existing customers will not receive The Documentary Channel unless they subscribe to the Classic Bronze 100 or higher programming package.

The Documentary Channel is the first 24/7 cable network dedicated exclusively to airing the works of independent documentary filmmakers, uncut and without intermission.
