I plan to use my hopper in a Motorhome using a sk1000 winegard traveler antenna. Thus the Hopper will be powered down while travelling. Will the unit work if we get to a site that does not have internet.

None of Dish receivers needs the internet to get satellite or OTA channels.

Doesn't the feed into the node need to come from a Dish pro plus lnb, will your antenna handle that ??

Yes, your Hopper will work just fine. I've had mine in for about a month & switch between the rooftop Traveler & a portable 1000.4 dish.

If you stay within your local channel spot beam range (~ 200 miles), you'll be able to use PTAT as long as you can acquire HD locals -- SD locals don't work with PTAT.

Note that DNS does NOT work with PTAT.
