Yes. The SF95 will detect a satellite signal and is handy for roughing in an install or determining if the LNBF is outputting a signal or if power is reaching the dish from the receiver. You cannot adjust the dish or LNBF with the SF95 to peak quality readings. The meter that is built into your receiver is much more advanced.

A receiver and a small TV at the dish site is always the best signal meter I just wish someone would manufacture a portable satellite receiver with an LCD screen that wouldn't set a poor soul back a week's pay
