Another post from DigitalBits: (There is a direct link to e-mail to Universal and ask for their support for BluRay)

It really doesn't look good for HD-DVD right now. Combo discs (so that if HD-DVD fails you still have something you can use) THD discs (so that when HD-DVD fails you will have a copy on BD) and of course the fact that in 3 short months BD went from trailing way behind on standalone player sales and movie discs sales to blowing by and leaving HD-DVD in the dust.

Right now BD is the choice of HD movie buffs in Japan, Australia, Canada, here in the US and soon Europe. Maybe those Chinese HD-DVD players are really for the Chinese who want their own HD format anyway. Guess they can have HD-DVD.

This format war might not be over and the fat lady might not be singing but something is warming up in the wings. Could it be M$ with a BD player for the XBOX360?
